DELUSION

DELUSION is a text/image-based simulation game designed to let players explore, challenge, and shape any reality they can imagine. Powered by AI models like Mixtral and DALL·E, running on the Galadriel blockchain, the game offers a unique experience where players propose scenarios—ranging from lighthearted, whimsical ideas to serious, real-world problems like economic models or global crises.

Each player starts by writing a scenario of their choice, and DELUSION generates four options for how the scenario might unfold, plus a custom input option. The player's decisions affect various metrics, which track the evolution of their simulation over time. These metrics can represent anything from social, political, and economic indicators to more abstract measures like creativity or chaos.

Unlike traditional games, DELUSION has no clear "winners" or "losers." It’s all about the journey and watching how the simulation changes with every interaction. Players can use the platform to test ideas, run hypothetical situations, or just enjoy the unpredictable outcomes of their creations.

DELUSION also holds the potential for real-world applications. By simulating complex systems like economics or environmental policies, it allows users to model outcomes based on real-world data. As the project grows, there’s room to incorporate collaborative multiplayer scenarios, real-time data integration, and even expand it into a 2D RPG-style experience for a more interactive, game-like feel.

In essence, DELUSION merges entertainment and serious simulation, providing a platform for creative exploration, thoughtful experimentation, and even education.

DELUSION was built using Next.js for the frontend. The backend is powered by Galadriel blockchain contracts, which govern the interactions between the player and the AI models, ensuring that each scenario is securely processed.

One key innovation is blending the AI models to create a virtual Agent, who acts as the game’s referee and guide. This Agent—powered by Mixtral and DALL·E—generates possible outcomes and visuals for each player’s scenario, offering unique paths for the simulation to evolve. The Agent is also responsible for managing the game’s internal logic and progression, making each interaction feel dynamic and alive.

By utilizing blockchain, the AI’s decisions and generated outcomes are securely logged, ensuring reliability and trust in the game’s flow.

One hacky aspect was integrating the AI models and blockchain to give the Agent control over the game’s progression, making DELUSION a complete AI-driven experience.
