Project Description

There have been many innovations and amazing products born out of Web3, however we have noticed that there are still some areas in which there is room for improvement. One of them is the freelancing sector. There are several problems with the traditional way that this works. Some of them are retention during long periods of time, unjustified retention of funds, removement of accounts because of political reasons, etc. The people affected end up with less opportunities to find work which can further affect their personal economical situations. We believe these situations should not happen. This is where we decided to create a decentralized solution to the freelancing problems. Freelancers are able to find job opportunities through the use of the Lens social graph. The contractor posts a job it needs done, which then gets published an queried in Lens. Freelancers can navigate their social networks while browsing for laboral opportunities at the same time. We believe this is a really innovate idea that can make the freelancing business more fair for both sides. The contractor will be able to decide between the best freelancer for his task, and the freelancer will be able to enter a task, and be assured that there will be a winner who will be guaranteed to get paid.

How it's Made

Freelensers is built on to of the Lens social graph. It consists of two groups of users. The contractor and the freelancer. The contractor creates a new job that it needs done. This will have an entries limit and date limit. This is done on our backend and database. When a new bounty is created, a post is uploaded to the Lens graph. The freelancers are then able to filter the Lens posts in order to find the right job for them. At the moment of the task creation, the money is sent to a smart contract so that the freelancers are assured they will receive the funds. These following sponsor technologies were of great use. Lens was used as the protocol to be built with. We used the Lens GraphQL Api to fetch data to the Polygon blockchain. Web3Auth was used for the wallet connector. It allowed for an easy integration and onboarding for users. Pockt Network was our RPC node for Matic. We used Worldcoin to verify that each user is unique. We deployed on Polygon mainnet to have efficient and economical transactions. Push was used to send notifications when winners received their funds. OpenZeppelin was of great use for smart contracts.
