Project Description

Traditional Web2.0 fundraising platforms present several challenges for users. Lack of trust can arise due to a variety of factors, including anonymous campaign organizers, a lack of transparency in the fundraising process, and inadequate information about where the funds are going. These factors can deter users from contributing to the cause. Additionally, platform fees can reduce the amount of money that ultimately goes to the cause, further discouraging users. Furthermore, Web2.0 fundraising platforms may be vulnerable to security breaches and hacking, putting sensitive information at risk. Our fundraising application addresses these issues by using decentralized ledger technology to provide transparency and accountability in fundraising campaigns. This technology allows for complete transparency in the allocation of funds, so users can be confident that their contributions are going to the intended cause. Our application also eliminates fees and charges associated with fundraising platforms by leveraging decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, which allow for faster and more affordable transactions. Finally, our application provides greater security through the use of decentralized networks that are resistant to hacking and cyber attacks. By addressing these issues, our application aims to make fundraising easier, more transparent, and more accessible for users around the world.

How it's Made

Our hackathon project was built using a combination of cutting-edge technologies, carefully pieced together to create a seamless user experience. At the heart of our project is Vite.js, a lightning-fast front-end development framework that allowed us to create a highly responsive and dynamic user interface.

For the backend, we turned to Remix, a powerful platform for building smart contracts and decentralized applications on the Ethereum blockchain. We also used Hardhat, a developer-focused Ethereum development environment, to facilitate the testing and deployment of our smart contracts.

To bring our design vision to life, we utilized Figma, a collaborative design tool that allowed us to create beautiful and functional UI mockups with ease. We also leveraged Tailwind CSS to streamline our styling process and ensure a consistent look and feel across all screens.

One of the most important components of our project was the use of Solidity, a programming language specifically designed for writing smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain. We also integrated Polybase for OAuth and preserving logs for created fundraisers, which provided an added layer of security and transparency to our fundraising platform.

Throughout the development process, we constantly pushed the boundaries of what was possible, utilizing a range of hacky techniques and creative workarounds to overcome any obstacles that arose. The end result is a project that not only meets our initial goals, but also showcases the innovative thinking and technical prowess of our team.
