NounsVerse

This project is a combination of top-down video game style environment, and blockchain used for storing state to create an extendable autonomous world where Nouns DAO members can interact with one another in immersive fashion. The idea behind it is to make a token-gated virtual world that acts as a space for exploration, communication and play. In the future, it can be extended further for other NFT communities. Additionally, since the world relies on smart contracts where the world mechanics in which the members operate can be extended , and the world itself is extendable by anyone, it is possible for the world to evolve in the way that the community members themselves want it to develop. In its current form, the project incorporates a habit tracking system where the user needs to mark if he/she has completed certain tasks that day. If they were done, the Noun stays happy as indicated by health indicator. However, as mentioned, the world can be extended with any number of plugins and customized per member needs.

This project uses Dynamic Wallet to connect to the blockchain; MUD (from Lattice) for blockchain state-transitions to keep state of a given NFT; and Phaser for the video-game type of mechanics. The key part of the project is managing the state transitions of the world in which the players live. The state management is performed within smart contracts which not only store the state but also defined what can be performed within the world. For example, a given NFT may be able to eat, drink water, exchange tokens with other NFT, etc. The smart contracts may also be extended by anyone, and a new world can be created, using the new rules. This way the world can develop in a direction that the community finds most acceptable.
