RealRace 🏇

The race horse market is a $480 billion global market that is projected to grow to over $800 billion by 2030. However, like many specialized sports, the barrier to entry is high. There are two main challenges: first, you usually need to know someone already involved in the industry to become an owner, and second, the cost of purchasing a race horse is high. Due to this, the race horse market can be considered illiquid, making entry and exit difficult.

RealRace addresses this problem by simplifying the process of selling fractionalized shares of horses through tokenization. Not only does this allows prospective buyers to easily purchase shares of ownership in a race horse, RealRace will also provide liquidty to both owners and buyers on either side of the transaction.

RealRace is a launchpad built on top of Chiliz network. Why Chiliz?--Chiliz is a sport themed blockchain with a global network of athletic partners. We used Chainlink to pull real world data from live horse race results. In the future, this will help us use data like purses from races to verify earnings onchain. We wanted to create a seamless onboarding experience for RealRace so we integrated two login options: Safe AA SDK for social logins and walletconnect. Walletconnect allows us to push notifications to the owner (seller) when someone purchases tokens in their race horse. The data from listings is also in part stored on-chain, images of the race horses are stored on IPFS.
