An alternative and experiential side-scrolling NFT marketplace
NFT marketplaces are great, but they all look the same. They all have a similar multi-column layout, which often takes the focus off the actual pieces themselves. I wanted to reimagine the experience of browsing for NFTs. Gemini is a side-scrolling 2D marketplace. The project enables you to browse NFTs at a more chill pace, and explore the area with relaxing techno music in the background and only one at a time. In future, I'd like to add multiple worlds, transactions, a multi-player area for viewing and trading, and some clever mechanics around allowing the user to search for NFTs categories which are pertinent to them - without the use of an actual search bar.
This project uses Circle's Web 3 wallet, to provide a useful Web3 user controlled wallet for management and transactions. It utilises the alchemy API to source NFTs, which are randomly generated based on recent transactions on the backend express.js server. It uses phaser 3 as a game engine, and vue 3 cdn on the frontend with tailwind.css. Nous assets are randomly distributed throughout the world on each reload, providing dynamic visuals.
