Spam Protector

I come from a country where getting 4-6 calls a day from scam callers, telemarketers , banks , insurance , robo callers, etc is the norm. We can manage with some frustration, but you do not want the people you care about getting scammed out of their money tomorrow.

This mobile application addresses this problem by building a community database of mobile numbers to keep an active track of new spam numbers popping up. Tools with centralised data stores such as Truecallers are losing trust and have gatekept community-contributed data.

This data has to be democratised so that anyone can write a client to determine who they think is spam. We also manage privacy while eliminating spam calls unlike popular apps out there like truecaller.

We have created a mobile app , where users can select the spam numbers they have received and upload the numbers. All this is done gaslessly. Through worldcoin, we have eliminated attacks on the database by verified individuals only. The added benefit is that tomorrow, we can incentivise people to publish these numbers.

Since all the spam events are on the blockchain, anyone now can build clients using indexers like graph and determine what to consider a spam number or not.

Democratising the data will enable multiple different toolsets to come out to eliminate spam. For ex: we have made a test client using gaia, where people can analyse the numbers published and choose whom to consider as spam.
