Project Description

Introducing an innovative project combining traditional social media and blockchain technology. The Garden enables multiple people to collectively control an X account, shifting from individual ownership to collaborative decision-making.

Effectively, you can turn your X account into a DAO.

This brings the best of both Web3 and Web2 by integrating on-chain voting and decentralised ownership with Web2 distribution.

The project is built on Gelato Functions, smart contracts, and IPFS (via Filecoin/Lighthouse). Users can acquire ownership tokens of a specific account on X. A token holder can propose a new post which is then voted by others. If successful, the post is then sent to X.

This new approach replaces the traditional one-account-one-person model with a collective ownership structure, enabling more effective and transparent decision-making processes.

This shift towards community-driven content creation promises to elevate quality and foster a more inclusive social media landscape. It enables sharing financial upside among contributors and simplifies investment for content creators.

As for any community effort, here's our pitch deck, incl. a tiny pinch of memes:

How it's Made

We're using Base Chain to deploy the smart contract responsible for triggering a new X post. Data for those posts will be kept in IPFS (via Filecoin/Lighthouse). This project uses Gelato Functions to integrate with an X account.

The interesting part of this project will be the integration of Web3 contract with a Web2 social media API. This hasn't been done before as far as I can tell.
