Web3Sound: Empowering Artists in the Decentralized Music Streaming Revolution

Web3Sound is a groundbreaking project developed for the HackFS hackathon. Our vision is to create an open-source music streaming platform that revolutionizes the way artists and creators are compensated for their work. At the core of this platform is the innovative decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) called dApp/dao, which governs the codebase and operation of the platform.

Traditional music streaming platforms have long been criticized for their opaque revenue-sharing models, where artists often receive only a fraction of the revenue generated from their content. With Web3Sound, we aim to disrupt this industry norm by leveraging the power of blockchain technology and Web3 principles.

Our platform provides artists with real-time visibility into the revenue generated by their content. Every transaction and interaction within the platform, from content consumption to revenue distribution, is tracked transparently on the blockchain. To get started, users are required to have a ceramic account, which serves as their authentication and profile system within the platform. By connecting their ceramic accounts to the web3Sound dApp, users can securely access the platform and manage their profile information.

Creators play a vital role in the ecosystem, and they can upload their audio files directly to the platform. These audio files are securely stored on web3.storage, a decentralized storage solution that ensures durability and availability of the uploaded content. By leveraging web3.storage, web3Sound guarantees that creators' audio files remain accessible and tamper-proof.

To manage the decentralized data of the platform, web3Sound relies on CeramicDB. This decentralized database solution built on top of the ceramic network enables efficient storage and retrieval of user profiles, audio metadata, and other relevant information. By utilizing CeramicDB, web3Sound ensures that data remains decentralized, immutable, and transparent, enhancing the platform's reliability and security.
