Project Description

While the abundance of Layer 2 solutions, including innovative projects like Scroll, enriches the blockchain ecosystem, it also poses some challenges for traditional Web2 users who want to get their feet wet in the Web3 world. These users can be overwhelmed by the extensive choices, which may not always align with their specific needs. Furthermore, when a DApp on a particular blockchain chain becomes suddenly popular, it triggers a surge in gas fees. This increase leads to higher operational costs for other DApps on the same chain, forcing them to pay significantly more than usual.

Our 'Event-Driven Framework Onboarding High-Throughput Web2 Apps’ facilitates Web2 user onboarding with an automatic chain selection feature. This removes uncertainty for users about choosing the right chain, as our algorithms efficiently handle the selection process for them. Moreover, our solution continuously monitors gas fee fluctuations across chain networks. In case of a detected surge, our framework can instantly switch chains for users, sparing them from the burden of paying high gas fees.

How it's Made

Our gaming platform integrates a React.js frontend with a Node.js backend, utilizing ethers.js for real-time gas price updates across various L2 chains. Our backend's chain selection algorithms assess the current interaction chain's status and decide whether to switch to a more optimal L2 chain. Additionally, it interfaces with Filecoin Lighthouse APIs for hosting game application data including posting asset summaries to off-chain storage, which then informs our on-chain NFT data.

Our interaction smart contracts, deployed on Polygonzkevm, Base Goerli, and Scroll Sepolia Testnets, process updates from the game server, ensuring lower gas fees compared to L1 usage. In response to a required switch, our backend triggers cross-chain operations via Hyperlane. This transfers a comprehensive summary to the Arbitrum Goerli Testnet, where our game's asset and logic contracts reside. Hyperlane's efficiency in this process substantially speeds up and reduces the cost of cross-chain interactions, enhancing our platform's upgradability.
