Blockchains like Ethereum have smart contracts that let developers encode logic to change that state. As a key management network, Lit provides a method that allows developers to encode logic that dictates signing and encryption / decryption. Lit Actions are JavaScript functions that can be used read and write data across blockchains, web2 platforms, and the rest of the web3 world. You can think of them as decentralized serverless functions with access to their own public / private key pair. You can use Lit Actions to generate signatures when your specified on or off-chain conditions are met, fetch data from off-chain platforms, manage permissions for Programmable Key Pairs (PKPs), and so much more. All Lit Actions are executed within the trusted execution environment (TEE) present within each Lit node, meaning the computation remains completely private and immutable. Additionally, all Lit Actions can be chained together to create sophisticated applications and protocols. With Lit's v0.1 testnet release and v6 Beta 2 SDK release, Lit has enabled decryption and signing WITHIN a Lit Action. You can now compute over private information in a trusted environment, import and sign with web 2.0 secrets or blockchain keys across any chain, and so much more. We want to see what you can build using these awesome new privacy and integrity features!

Qualification Requirements

- Use of decryption and/or signing within a Lit Action (Note: All submissions MUST make use of decryption and/or signing within a Lit Action to be eligible for prizes) - Technical completeness and sophistication - Potential impact - Creativity and presentation

About

CoopHive is a marketplace for compute that enables users to run arbitrary containers, including AI workloads, on any eligible compute node in the network with a single instruction. Its aim is to provide a permissionless protocol where anybody can buy or sell compute, enabling developers to run complex off-chain compute in an affordable manner, and compute providers to earn revenue using their underutilized hardware, with an on-chain record of who did what. Long-term, CoopHive is building a multi-chain, multi-currency, multi-token standard generic marketplace. It will provide the base layer for autonomous agents to execute arbitrary compute and exchange real-world assets, scientists to write and read verifiable computational histories with provenance, and mechanism designers to implement custom reward logic for multi-agent systems.

💎 Best Uses Cases Utilizing Latent Computing Power$2,500
Up to 2 teams will receive $1,250
You have the cure for cancer. But only just. You need a lot of computing power to find it, but you don’t have it. And you don’t have the money to pay for it. So what do you do? Faced with this question in the past, many scientists turned to volunteer distributed computing platforms like BOINC and folding@home for their computational needs. These platforms provided scientists the ability to distribute their computational workloads to volunteers around the world. Today, we can use technologies like blockchains and IPFS to store the data involved in the computations in a decentralized and persistent manner, so that anybody can reproduce the results. CoopHive is a rule set for placing IPFS CIDs on-chain. IPFS CIDs act as immutable pointers to off-chain data, meaning that the data stored on-chain is minimized relative to storing the original data itself on-chain. Enter Filecoin, with cryptoeconomics specifically designed to drive the price of public storage down to 0. With its proofs of storage, Filecoin is well-positioned to provide the necessary incentives and cryptographic primitives to store the data-heavy IPFS CIDs that result from massive scientific computing projects. Your mission, hacker, is to think of the best of use latent computing power that you can, and combine it with IPFS, Filecoin, and other data storage solutions to take advantage of enormous, untapped wealth by cryptoeconomically incentivizing using otherwise wasted resources in a productive manner.

Qualification Requirements

- new project - open source github repo, permissive license - good documentation - objective function is to maximize public good and creation/discovery of knowledge

The Ethereum Name Service is a decentralised naming protocol for the new internet. ENS enables you to have a portable web3 username and profile. Use it to establish an online identity, simplify crypto payments for any blockchain, and host decentralised websites. ENS supports .eth names natively, as well as any DNS names you already own (.com, .xyz, etc.).

Prizes

👑 Best use of ENS$3,500
🥇
1st place
$2,000
🥈
2nd place
$1,500
Any type of ENS integration is eligible for this prize — get creative! The more ENS-centric it is, the better. It should feel like ENS is a core part of your project, not an afterthought. Some ideas include unique ways to register .eth names, smart contract wallets that mint subnames upon deployment, clever approaches to reducing fees for ENS users (offchain/L2 resolvers), or unique use cases for text records. For L2 projects, we encourage you to explore the EVMGateway linked below.
🌐 Best decentralised website$1,500
ENS names support a contenthash field, which is an identifier of decentralised content such as an IPFS CID. This makes IPFS content accessible via human-readable names instead of long hashes. Contenthash resolution is supported natively in some browsers like Brave, or can be accessed in any browser via gateways like https://eth.limo. This prize goes to the best decentralised website that is accessible via a .eth name!

Qualification Requirements

Build a website that supports ENS in some way, pin it to IPFS, and set the contenthash record of a .eth name to be the relevant CID. It should be accessible via the eth.limo gateway upon submission. This requires minimal mainnet ETH for gas fees, which we are happy to subsidize. Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Some ideas that are exciting to Fleek:   🖥️ JS Edge Functions - Developers can make javascript edge functions that can be used inside their apps to offload a part of the computation to Fleek. This can have multiple use cases and various libraries can be bundled and used simultaneously to provide quick responses to the user on the app.   Please ensure that you use Fleek CLI v2.1.0-staging.1 while exploring the edge functions.   🗂️ Next.js App Hosting - Fleek provides a decentralized execution environment for hosting Next.js apps. This makes the app instantly more performant and also allows for individual features of Next.js like image optimisation to be utilized as an edge function.   🤖 Virtual Machines - A huge value add to the Fleek ecosystem that a developer can provide is building virtual machines. VMs can become execution environment services for multiple languages and enable other developers to do nearly anything.   ⛓️ Nodes - We can execute the logics of another node on top of Fleek nodes. This would allow for complete blockchain infrastructures to exist (and still perform its own tasks) while leveraging the distribution and availability of Fleek nodes. Essentially replacing any centralized servers one may spin up and build a blockchain network from scratch.   🌐 Onchain DNS - An onchain solution to manage all hostings on Fleek would be an extremely helpful project for the community. As we swap centralized CDN from your stack with an extremely performant decentralized CDN, a natural next step would be to have a decentralized domain name system hosted on Fleek.   📊 Analytics - Monitoring and Analytics tooling can be built and hosted on Fleek. These can exist in the VM environment or as edge functions and trigger when a certain event has taken place. This is also an interesting use case for logging tools built on Fleek.

Qualification Requirements

Please note that these are some ideas and approaches we researched and theorized internally. We welcome any suggestions and creative applications of Fleek beyond the above presented list. All ideas and techniques to build more scalable solutions that solve a problem are important to us and we will provide adequate support from our end to discuss and help make projects technically concrete and strong. Building on any of the above mentioned use cases can fetch a bounty but if you have a different idea in the same vein reach out to us! - The idea and approach should be relevant to Fleek. - The project should have a strong technical foundation with focus on the problem being addressed. - Adequate attention must be paid to the developer/user experience of your project

🏊 Pool Prize$500
Split with up to 22 teams (capped at $23 per team)
We're excited to power any part of your project at HackFS. Use any Fleek technology to be a part of the pool prize.

Qualification Requirements

To qualify as part of the Pool Prize you must make meaningful use of Fleek developer tooling in your project.

WeatherXM has deployed more than 5k stations in over 80 countries, with the goal of creating the largest decentralized weather network. To support this, we developed the Explorer, a web app that let's you discover all weather stations deployed worldwide and view real-time weather conditions. We'd love to see you enhance our Explorer. To kick things off, we prepared ideas to give you a sense of direction. Feel free to use them, or just come up with your own: 1. Weather Layers: - Use our public API to make the explorer display more weather data such as temperature, precipitation, and wind heat map layer (e.g. like windy.com). 2. Decentralized Cell Bounty: - Create a decentralized tool to incentivize station deployments in specific cells (areas with no stations). - Users can connect their wallet, add a bounty (in tokens) for a particular cell, and once a station is deployed in that cell, the station owner can claim the bounty. 3. Cell Modelling Information: - Enable the explorer to display all cells, including non-active ones (cells with no stations). - Show cell-modelling and capacity-related information for each cell. - Introduce a cell ranking system where each station within a cell is ranked based on their latest rewards. 4. Come up with your own idea: - Experiment with our repos or data, come up with any idea and create something out of the box, without building on top of the explorer. Top 3 teams will also receive a WeatherXM weather station! Best of luck!

Qualification Requirements

- Use of our Explorer's open source code and/or public API. - Technical completeness and sophistication. - Creativity and presentation.
